clareq Posted December 13, 2018 Posted December 13, 2018 (edited) One user is getting the attached error when running reports in SIMS I have unticked the "Open e-mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view" option in Word, as my googling told me to, but she still gets the error. Other users can run the report without issue. Any ideas? Edited to add - the affected user can run the reports on another computer. Edited December 13, 2018 by clareq

clareq Posted December 13, 2018 Author Posted December 13, 2018 Sorry @FishCustard, I edited my original post before I saw yours. I don't think it's the tempSimsRpt folder, as that travels with her to the unaffected machine.

So it's the combination of user + PC that's affected? Try removing the user's profile on that machine (delprof2 will do it)
Greg Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 (edited) This can be an Office issue when Office is opening the merge document in read only mode Open a Word document. Go to File | Options On the bottom of the General tab uncheck the box that says “Open e-mail attachments and other uneditable files in reading view.” This will prevent Word from opening in read only view and the data will merge. * Just noticed you've already tried this, try the suggestion above to recreate users profile Edited December 14, 2018 by Greg
clareq Posted December 17, 2018 Author Posted December 17, 2018 This resolved itself before I removed the user's profile. I hate it when that happens!
