Dos_Box Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Remember when Nintendo clamped down on YouTubers showing footage of Nintendo games in their vids and streams by nabbing their ad revenue? *If not, you can find a quick reminder here - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-22552756 Well, it seems they have now had a change of heart - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-46385047 I wonder if they had seen a fall in the percentage of Nintendo footage being streamed compared to other systems? All that free publicity they clamped down on must have hurt them at least in some ways.
sted Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 it seems very coincidental this is just before the launch of smash a game that will be streamed loads giving them a lot of publicity
Domino Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 It's Nintendo though, they'll be working on some new way to foul it up and shoot themselves in the foot.
FN-GM Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 Always thought it was a stupid thing to do. It's free advertising for them!
Dos_Box Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 Perhaps in 2014 they just didn't want people talking about what a flop the Wii U was? Mind you, with the money grabbing measures they put in place, perhaps they thought it a was good way to offset their losses!
