IT Infrastructure Engineer – Milton Keynes / UK * URGENT *

£250 - £300 / day (plus travel expenses)

6 month – 15 month contract

 

Our client, a prestigious group of independent schools throughout the UK are looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their existing team.

 

Working on the Schools Technology Refresh Programme, you will be responsible for delivering a digital future and laying the foundations for using EdTech successfully across the group including new computers, laptops, tablets, AV, servers, networks, internet connections, software and security.

 

 

As the IT Infrastructure Engineer, your main duties will include:

· Providing technical and project management support.

· Defining, managing, tracking and proactively delivering technical solutions to achieve project goals.

· Implementing technical changes and solutions into the school environments.

· Ensure all solutions are in line with Cognita policies and standards

· Acting as the interface between the project and BAU support team.

· Documenting all solutions and activities.

· 50% of this role will be in Milton Keynes and 50% will be spent visiting schools across the UK.

(This will include some occasional overnight stays.)

 

To be considered for this position, you must have most of the following:

 

· Excellent communication skills, including including written and verbal

· ITIL and Prince 2 (or equivalent Project Management qualification)

· MCP certification

· Experience of desktop and application rollouts

· Ability to think creatively and problem solve

· Ability to work under pressure

· Ability to document solutions and support users through system changes

· Effective time management and organisational skills

· Ability to learn knowledge of new systems quickly and apply them in the work environment

 

The following technical skills and experience are also highly desirable:

· Microsoft Active Directory

· Office 365 administration

· Windows 10 operating system

· Azure Portal

· Microsoft Intune

· uniFLOW management software

· Meraki Access Points

· SIMS.net and education applications

· Previous experience of supporting a school environment
