Which Monitor

Currently running 2 x 24" Samsung monitors, look to upgrade as part of my PC replacement, looking at either a matching pair of 24's or going up to something like 27".

 

There is currently 52% off the Dell U2417H on Amazon, but I am also looking at the Dell U2717D.

 

Not seen any decent deals other than the 52% but still seems quite steep. Any recommendations, mainly for photo work.

All depend what you want to do really, and what connections you need. There is no one model fits all display, otherwise, everyone would be buying it.

For a £200 monitor it's a bargain - I'm not doing a great deal of graphics / video editing work at the moment, but picture quality has seemed okay so far. I think there is a separate VESA-mounting kit available, so you can mount two of them on a dual-screen arm or whatever.

 

Our all-in-one PC at home has just conked out, and I was tempted to get another matching monitor to replace it. In the end I went for a 32-inch TV, which was around £40 cheaper and should work fine as a monitor - you might be able to find a nice display for cheaper as a TV than as a dedicated monitor.

I have spent hours looking at kit recently and when I last did this there was certain things to avoid and certain things were worth the extra money but now it all seems its about the same.

 

Just after monitors as PC is in home office and is used as a dedicated workstation.

 

Things used to be so much simpler when I was doing this years ago and also as part of the daily job, lost track how many hours I've been looking, struggling to find good review sites for stuff these days too.
