Morning All,

I have been asked to allow remote SIMS access to our academy's head office. What are my options?

Running on site SIMS, Server 2008R2. Can spend a small bit of money for the right technology.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys :)

Thanks, TomHD

This really depends on what you already have in place and what level of access you have on your network/firewall to configure/change things. Have a look at this article. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/desktop-hosting-reference-architecture

Have a look a this also. https://ryanmangansitblog.com/2013/03/27/deploying-remote-desktop-gateway-rds-2012/

My academy has got back to me and all they want is 1 remote connection to a PC running SIMS, for ease and time to get working, I was thinking a Google Chrome Remote Session would suffice? Any recommendations against this?

In that case setup a Pc somewhere in your building that is always on and load with Sims and TeamViewer.

Then use TeamViewer to access that machine.

You'll need to purchase a licence for TeamViewer, though.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards Chrome's remote capabilities as its free.
