Slow Windows 7 Logon

Hi All,

 

Having an issue with logins, Windows 7 first login can be really slow.

 

I have turned verbose mode on everything runs through fine, the thing it gets stuck slow loading on is 'Preparing Desktop your desktop' and then also a personalized settings box pops up top right corner and that says setting up personalized settings for: Windows Desktop Update.

 

Also for some users it just displays the windows logo for a good few minutes.

 

I have checked event viewer can't see anything alarming. Only seems to happen on first logins. When users logon again all seems to be okay.

 

Everything is redirected including appdata.

 

 

Anyone got any ideas or experienced anything similar?

Is the user desktop redirected? If so check there's no big files as if there are then it could be dragging the big files down to the computer.
