I voted 'yes' but this answer is couched in the past as it's years since I have been involved in our website. If it's the same now I couldn't say.

My comment is that your question is too vague.

 

Are you asking if explicit consent every time something is posted or are you asking if explicit consent has been received to put photos of the person* on facebook, to put photos on the school website, to put photos of the person on Twitter...?

 

The former is the most cautious and, arguably, the safest option under GDPR

 

The latter allows generic for photos, but specific permission for platforms to be sought and may well be what schools are actually doing.

 

* Remember that it is not only the children that you must get permission from. If you are posting photos of staff, parents, volunteers or visitors then you need GDPR consent from them too.
