Shared Calendar Office365 - not sharing internal asking to download calendar instead

Hello we would like to share a calendar created by either a member of staff or via an IT technician (with office 365 admin rights). We created a calendar, also tested a calendar share with an existing calendar and when we come to share the calendar within the organisation

Share this calendar: meeting calendar

send a sharing invitation in email

enter email address

people inside organisation - can view all details

 

the people we share the calendar with are prompted to download the calendar from an attachment instead of it just linking in with your calendars

Any ideas how we can link the office 365 calendar to other people in the organisation

Adding disclaimers to calendar invite emails can cause problems and confusion for end users. The problem arises if a transport rule tries to add a disclaimer to this inbound sharing invitation. First, some background. If a transport rule cannot add a disclaimer, the default action it takes is to wrap the message. This means that the original message will be attached as a .eml file to a new message which will contain the disclaimer.

Please follow below action plan-

The best course of action here is to not add disclaimers to calendar invitation emails. This can easily be done by adding an exception clause to the existing transport rule. The transport rule exception would contain, “Except if… The subject or body includes…”

With this in place, the transport rule will no longer trigger on calendar invitation emails, and thus leaving the end user with a positive experience
