TJ-Diggers Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 We are currently having an issue that when we rebuild our machines and a network user logs on. They can no longer see the all programs in the start menu. We deploy our all programs like this. 1. PC Startupp - Copy all programs from svr to C: 2. User logon - Copy all programs from C: to "%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" We do not use folder redirection for start menu as we place the shortcuts in the microsoft default above. As this is a network setting and not pc I am unsure why the programs are not showing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
ollyyllo Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 After a user logs on are the two folder locations populated as expected?
TJ-Diggers Posted November 14, 2018 Author Posted November 14, 2018 Yes, the folders look correct it is just in start menu that you cannot see the program sets.
ollyyllo Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 you say you not redirecting the start menu, but are you redirecting appdata? If so %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs is where the apps will get pulled from
TJ-Diggers Posted November 16, 2018 Author Posted November 16, 2018 Found the issues. The reg keys were old and not being replaced with the new start menu locations here 'HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders'
