Hi everyone,

When we came into work yesterday we had numerous users (not all) who could not connect to their emails through the Oulook application but Web mail worked absolutely fine. I checked on the Microsoft Health status page in the morning and couldn't see any known errors for exchange. We use the Azure directory sync and that all seems to be connecting and syncing fine. In the afternoon 2 new errors appeared on the Microsoft site saying that users were having trouble accessing emails on certain tiers across multiple protocols. I thought that this was it and Microsoft would eventually get round to fixing it the issue.

I've come into school today and the problem is still occurring (it's not for everyone) and the Microsoft service errors have now disappeared. Is anybody else having this issue as i'm starting to think it's something local that's causing it now? my colleague has an open support call so we will see if anything comes of that today.

Thank you.

I bet autodiscover. Outlook will try one of about a half dozen ways to find its mailbox. Not all will work, nor do they need to.

Go to outlook in the right hand title bar area, hold control and right click on outlook. Select Test Email Autoconfiguration

Put in an email, untick the guessmart options

Maybe compare a working one to a not-working one.
