Theldron Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Hi, I am trying to install Autocad 2018 by SCCM but having trouble installing. Could anyone explain how they setup the application? Many thanks
6Foot2 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Problems with deploying AutoCAD has been discussed in this thread: Link: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/educational-software/193786-deploying-autocad-2018-installs-fine-but-prompting-activation.html
Arthur Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I am trying to install AutoCAD 2018 by SCCM but having trouble installing. Which aspect of the installation isn't working? I haven't had to deploy AutoCAD myself, but from what I understand from reading several threads on /r/SCCM there can be issues with the sheer number of files that have to be copied to the client PCs. www.reddit.com/r/SCCM/comments/7893gv/large_deployment_23000_files_13_gigs_not_reaching/dos0dli/ I've had issues with AutoCAD in the past, BITS tends to have a fit at around 20k files. Your best bet here is to zip the AutoCAD source and extract locally on the client, then install. Easily done with PowerShell via the PSaDT - I've used 7-zip with command line extract . Better yet to put the files into a VHDX, it will be faster. N.B. You may also be running into long files names
Theldron Posted October 8, 2018 Author Posted October 8, 2018 I only had a look Friday but try to deploy via SCCM but nothing was happening. I am back at the school Wednesday, I tried with the command line that Autocad provided within the application creation in SCCM and I tried with a batch file with the command line in. I think I need to try the command line locally on a PC. Sorry.
