I'm at an all through school and use progresso. Our SENDCo has bought Provision Map recently which connects with progresso, so SEN info is very topical at the moment. Fire away with any questions you have.

This is fab news. I also have provision map but I just want to be able to do the basics to start with. What would be the most important reports for Sen and how would you carry them out please? What does your Sen team report to slt and can you review last year's data? Any help really appears o appreciated.

Our SEN staff tend to use a lot of Google sheets for the details. All that progresso stores AFAIK is the minimum for DfE reporting, which is basically SEN Provision type and SEN Major needs along with some start, review and end dates. We did consider adding a user defined field to track wave level of intervention, but we never implemented it. I think the SEN staff realised that for better way of managing details, Provision Map was the way to go. I helped them through the GDPR requirements as Proviision Map software hooks in to progresso through a third party called Wonde. I checked access to data was legitimate and it's all read only so it was quite straight forward. In terms of using progresso reporting, we probably only access the SEN pupils in one of two ways.

i) In Report->View Report->View Reports->People there is a report called "Learner List (inc FSM and SEN)". That is s simple list that provides the basics. If you can't see the report, your administrator needs to provide access.

ii) You can used the Advanced Filter on Learner List and select all pupils with a true current SEN status. Here a shot of the search conditions

With ii), you can change the default view (Via More Actions -> Select List View) to one called "Learner SEN" and you should get details you need that way.

Do you mean assessment tracking? Nothing out of the box that I am aware of. I believe pretty much any report can be converted to a widget and then displayed on a dashboard - you'd probably need to copy and modify the report to filter to SEN pupils only. This assessment part of the system is powerful, but it comes with a degree of complexity. I'd recommend that you or a colleague would need to attend some training or consultancy to get set up. The next thing you might need is someone with the ability to create their own or modify existing SSRS reports - again training would be recommended. To give you some ideas of the sorts of things that can be done, have a look at Progresso Geek. I don't think the blog has been updated for a good few years, but I expect it mostly still valid.

We moved to Progresso we setup several user defined fields to record SEN data. The SEN department update it via the SEN tab on the Learner record and we wrote a report to display it. We also managed to get it linked to a copy of the teaching groups widget so teachers can click the arrow under SN for their class to see all the info available.SEN.PNG
