Hi

Is anybody using M2 Digital for the supply and maintenance of their printers? If so how long have you been with them and how do you rate them?

We are considering entering into a 5yr lease based agreement (with 3yr opt out option). We get 20 brand new printers, 2 spare backup printers, printer management software (pcounter or papercut), toner and 4hr response maintenance for a set quarterly fee which comes to less than we currently pay out on toner alone. They are even offering to buy some of our existing printers off us that are being replaced.

I've spoken to two of their reference sites and they seemed very happy.

It just seems too good to be true so i'm looking for a sanity check.

Many thanks.

For us its £1,625 a quarter based on a calculated 94,000 pages printed per quarter (84k black and white @ £0.011 per print, 10k colour @ £0.069 per print). This price includes everything incl toner, maintenance, new printers, backup printers, software.

If we print more than 94k pages the excess cost per print is £0.0044 b&w and £0.044 colour. If we print less than 94k the £1,625 quarterly charge is reduced for the next quarter in line with actual volume.

It would depend what printers as some are useless.

In my experience you get what you pay for. If its cheap its normally cheap for a reason :)

What printers?

any copiers/mfps? if so any plans to charge/monitor copies taken?

the price difference between pcounter and papercut can be a fair bit how many users you got?

any ideas how many pages you print a year?

I just want to know did you manage to use this company in the end?

They also come and seen us and I am contemplating whether this is a good idea or not.

I do like the idea that all our printer consumables and repairs would all be sorted with this company.

I've used them in the past for photocopiers and generally have been impressed. Although that was with Nashuatec/Ricoh which IMHO are bomb-proof anyway.
