IT TECHNICIAN – FULL TIME (52 weeks) GRADE C £17,224-£18,794 FTE - ROBERT MAY'S SCHOOL, HAMPSHIRE RG29 1NA

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive IT Technician to assist in the support of our IT infrastructure and contribute to the maintenance and development of a well- equipped IT network. You will join a small newly structured team, providing IT support for students and staff, in a successful secondary Academy school. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for the IT team, using a triage-type approach to prioritising requests and repairs.

Key responsibilities include:-

● Handling and prioritising requests for technical support through the IT help desk according to need and impact on teaching and learning

 

● Logging requests and resolutions on the help desk to facilitate tracking and reporting, and resolving or escalating issues as appropriate

 

● Identifying common IT problems and working as part of the wider IT team to put resolutions in place

 

● Dealing with technical queries, both face to face and by email and phone, from students and staff

 

● Monitoring the laptop booking system and the loan of devices to students and staff

 

● Undertaking such training as may be necessary for the role

 

● After suitable training, carrying out simple repairs such as keyboard and batteryreplacements

 

● Providing regular reports from the IT help desk to help with serviceimprovements

For this role, experience in the following would be preferred:

 

● Microsoft Windows 7&10

 

● Microsoft Server 2008 & 2012

 

● Microsoft Windows Active Directory

 

● Group policy management

 

● Desktop hardware support

 

● (Microsoft Office packages)

You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all staff and students. The ideal candidate will be customer focused and be able to work flexibly.
