Hi all..I am trying to come up with a more efficient way of handing our software deployments during school opening. Every year we get hundreds of requests for large applications that we deploy over the network using SCCM. The issue with this approach is that a lot of requests get duplicated, computers go offline and users get delayed. We thought of creating an academic image that comprised of the large video editing apps like Adobe CS6 etc but then decided against that idea. How is everyone else doing their deployments? do you only do push out software at certain times of the year or is everything on the image? Please advise.

We have an image with most on but push out additional applications all year round. However local applications are becoming less. We have 1 school without any but Windows and Office.

To me it might sound just a case of getting it organised better.

I would like a cut of date of say end of May. I use an image for games design as Unreal Engine is large (20gb). But updates are asked for mid year. In terms of network bandwidth, I try and push software out at night. The issue with imaging is that the image gets stale very quickly.

Kace for imaging etc

Deploying quite bits of software say Silveright, Reader etc, that sort of day to day quick install stuff, Impero, group policy or pdq deploy

Large deployments ie something that needs manual input, normally non-term time
