Print Quota Software

Hi,

 

Does anybody know if there is Free Print Quota Software kicking around out here on the net, I've done a quick search but not found anything??

 

Anbody else had much luck?

 

Am I right in thinking that there is now something included in Windows Server 2003 R2 to do this?

It is possible to use a Linux box with CUPS to produce print quotas but I haven't played with this.

 

I use Print Manager Plus (PMP) which isn't free but won't really break the bank either (plus if you get your SMT on side it will pay for itself).

 

MS recommend PMP for use with LNM so I'm guessing R2 won't have this functionality - I may be wrong!

As stated, CUPS has printer quota built in; check out the documentation at http://www.cups.org. It works quite well but if you want something more sophisicated, then Pykota (http://www.librelogiciel.com/) is free printer quota software. This is not the easiest of software to implement; it is not for the faint hearted. Other offers are Printbill (http://ieee.uow.edu.au/~daniel/software/printbill/), printquota (http://printquota.sourceforge.net/) and PQuotas (http://pquota.free.fr/); development of these last three has stalled.
