What do I need to consider to move from County provided broadband?

Afternoon All,

 

We have been having ongoing issues with our county supplied broadband and my BM has asked me to write a proposal for moving to a business broadband service provided by the likes of Virgin/BT/et al.

 

What things will I need to consider in this proposal?

 

So far I have: Costings for the broadband service itself, considerations and costing of in house filtering

Does the county supplied broadband include firewalling? I know our empsn connection does - if so you may have to consider a firewall solution.

The big one was where the responsibility lies. When we got ours from the LA, a lot of the responsibility of kids getting on stuff they shouldn't be was with them. When we came away then it is now entirely with us.

What additional services are offered by your county, and will they work or help you get them working if you move away?

 

Email, Encrypted email, Secure data transfers, Enrollment Systems, Finance packages, Telecoms, Trip management. Just a few off the top of my head we had to get around when we moved away.
