Full time position - 37½ hour week with 6 weeks annual leave (plus bank hols). The closing date for applications is Thursday 6th September 2018. Our client, a highly respected school in Cambridge with an exceptional Ofsted report and approximately 1,100 pupils have an urgent requirement for a Senior IT Technician to join the existing IT Team. As the Senior IT Technician you will provide a wide range of IT system management, installation and support services including specific projects under the direction of the Network Manager. Your main duties will include: Assist in the management and maintenance of the school’s network infrastructure (AD, DHCP, DNS, ADFS, O365) to ensure that users are created and removed as necessary, with membership of the correct groups and access to the correct network resources, whilst maintaining network security. In conjunction with the Network Manager, maintain the infrastructure which includes Virtualised server network, VMWare, SAN Technologies, Veeam, Layer 3 Cisco network, Firewall and SPAM filters,Wireless Solution and Avaya IP Telephone network. Monitor availability and operational capacity of the School’s network facilities Install, deploy and configure software applications/IT services. Assist with the management of our iPads and Macs using MDMs which include AirWatch and JAMF. Work on projects including as Office 365, Microsoft Rights Management Services and ADFS. As the ideal candidate, you will have: Extensive experience developing and maintaining all elements of the technical product set. Experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support, resolving system errors, designing changes and implementing enhancements. Excellent understanding and experience working with server technologies in a virtual environment. Excellent understanding and experience working with desktop technologies. Knowledge of virtualisation technologies. Understanding of Windows Server components, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, WSUS, Group Policies, security and permissions. Any experience with Exchange Server, SharePoint Server or SQL Server, IIS, School MIS and Mac OSx is also highly desirable.
