Logitech’s latest mouse doesn’t quite flip the idea of a mouse upside-down, but at a 57-degree angle off a desk, it’s certainly closer than most. The MX Vertical takes the same design and performance cues as the rest of Logitech’s MX line, but puts it in a more ergonomic, vertical mouse form factor.

 

The entire design of the MX Vertical is meant to reduce strain and movement. According to Logitech, the tilted shape can reduce muscular activity by up to 10 percent compared to a regular mouse, and the sensor supports up to 4,000 DPI to negate the need to physically move the mouse as much. There’s also a dedicated button on top of the MX Vertical that allows users to easily adjust between higher and lower DPI settings with a single press, along with the option to press and drag the mouse for finer adjustments.

Razer recently had to resort to crowdfunding to create a left-handed gaming mouse. They have yet to reach their target.

 

Razer turns to Kickstarter for left-handed Naga Trinity

 

While Razer has made selected models of mice available in left-handed and ambidextrous variants in the past, the company's founder and chief executive has stated that it has been a loss-leader: 'We've been the only company shipping left handed gaming mice for the past few years and have been doing so at a loss,' claims Min-Liang Tan in a Twitter post on the subject. 'When we stopped the line we had a huge outcry from the LH community to do a Kickstarter for a LH Naga Trinity. Well - we are delivering on it now!'

 

Unlike its previous left-handed variants, though, Razer isn't funding production of the sinister Naga Trinity itself. Instead, the company has turned to Kickstarter - a crowdfunding website originally set up to allow small enterprises to gauge demand and raise funds to produce everything from books and albums to electronic devices, but which in the last few years has been increasingly taken up by established companies looking to offset the risk of launching a new product line.

 

With so few left-handed people in the world it isn't surprising large companies like Logitech and Razer don't bother creating more left-handed peripherals.
