Windows update and raid controller

Morning!

 

Most likely an easy fix but i cant get my head around it.

 

Windows update installed overnight to our offsite backup server. After the restart we kept getting a BSOD.

Im 99% sure its the HP raid controller update that's borked the server. I have the file to downgrade but how the heck do i downgrade a driver when i cant get into the machine OS?

You should be able to get to safemode normally still (Assuming the bsod is after normal boot screens etc?) and do the last good known boot style, then fix it in that.

I was thinking about safemode but for some reason i thought you couldnt do it on WS. I'll have a bash today and give you an update!

Normally you get issues if you try it on a VM as it boots too fast and bypasses the option to hit the key But should be able to on a physical box, if not the other way to force it is using a recovery CD and temporary modifying the bcedit to force it to boot to safemode on next boot
