I have a GPO set to run a logon script from the Netlogon area which runs BGInfo to set the wallpaper and display various username etc.

Randomly, when staff logon, they the logon script doesn't seem to run as they are left with the default Windows wallpaper - cannot see any issues in event viewer, GPResult says the GPO got applied.

This happens on 1607 LTSB and 1803 Edu

Anyone come across anything like this?

Cheers

Could be a timings issue.Does windows need to have loaded before BGinfo can set the wallpaper?

Have a look in the %temp% folder (or wherever you point BGinfo) to see the wallpaper's been generated and just not set.

I know we run BGinfo from the "shell:startup" folder to make sure it runs in a "logged on desktop" environment. - It's a legacy thing, so I don't know how much impact it has these days.

It different computers and users - if they log off and on again it then comes up ok

Might look to move it from a logon script to the shell:startup to see if that improves things.
