fiza Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 We have a new block being built to extend the School. I am asking for ceiling mounted network ports in each classroom for Wireless Access Points. What would you do for Offices? Is it best to have corridor network ports for mounting APs so they cover a number of rooms? If so how far apart would they need to be? We currently have a Ruckus System with R510 APs.
Jawloms Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 Ceiling mount them all. That is where they are designed to be. Get someone to do you a survey to tell you how far apart they should be. Any company who thinks business will be coming their way should do this for free in order to give you a quote for the APs.
fiza Posted June 28, 2018 Author Posted June 28, 2018 I only have the plans at the moment. Nothing has been built yet.
Jawloms Posted June 28, 2018 Posted June 28, 2018 I only have the plans at the moment. Nothing has been built yet. @Net-Ctrl told me how many APs I'd need when I gave them only plans. Stuart 1
peej2k Posted June 29, 2018 Posted June 29, 2018 Take the building plans and hand them to a wi-fi specialist. Let them know what you want in regards to capacity and what the building materials will be, and they'll be able to work out an estimate of what you'd likely need installed.
