Adobe software deployment - Configuring preferences for all users

Hi everyone,

 

I'm looking for a way to set preferences in Premiere Pro, Lightroom and Audition for all users (current and future). How are you doing it?

 

I have contacted Adobe and currently trying to solve this with their support team but so far they do not seem to be able to help. I think they want people to actually create an Adobe ID and sync parameters. Which is good, if you're an professionnal, but not so good in a school. I want to set preferences and make them the new defaults so that everytime a studen logs in he/she gets the good preferences.

 

How are you doing that?

If you can the files that the Adobe programs store settings. You could GPP them into each users profile before they start the programs. As for current users you risk them losing settings if GPP overwrite them. If there is a way with an Adobe account you may have to look at federated users using Azure/Gsuite/ADFS and configure SSO.

Good ideas, but did you successfully implemented one of them?

 

I have tried a lot of things so far, none of them works as they should be. I might have to move to SSO with Federated ID but that's a lot of work I'm not willing to do right now. Also, it should be simpler.

Adobe are wanting to move education away from serial licencing to user licensing. Currently you need a user sync tool to sync your AD or upload users via CSV. You need to do some procmon to see which files are changed for the settings you want to push out, then test that Photoshop etc don't overwrite the files.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I think I'll just tell the professors it is not possible as of now and start working the way Adobe wants it. Not that I like the idea though. Thanks for your input.
