nsion Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 IT Support Manager – Hertfordshire * URGENT * Up to £40,000 + extensive benefits (pension, lunch, free parking, 25 days holiday) Permanent full time position – to start ASAP Our client, an independent school in Hertfordshire are looking for an IT Support Manager to join their existing team and ensure the effective delivery of IT and AV support throughout the school. As the IT Support Manager, you will work closely with the Director of IT to ensure the helpdesk support team are working effectively and in line with the group’s needs as a whole. You will also be required to manage the 5 x IT Technicians and their personal development in addition to providing hands on 1st / 2nd line IT support. Your main duties will include: · Solving problems and making decisions on a daily basis relative to Helpdesk responsibilities and ensuring effective Helpdesk representation for the coordination of work processes and projects with other departments and divisions. · Proactively identifying issues and fixing problems before users are affected. · Monitoring the group’s schedule of events, anticipating support needs and scheduling staff and resources appropriately. · Managing all escalation of issues from 2nd line to 3rd line where necessary, ensuring sufficient detail has been recorded electronically to enable 3rd line support to fix issues effectively. · Handling all IT support complaints and escalating to the Director of IT where necessary. · Performing staff scheduling to ensure Helpdesk and site coverage from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and coverage outside these times for special events. · Maintaining a knowledge base of issues to ensure IT staff can quickly and effectively resolve issues. · Staff IT Inductions and ad-hoc training. · Ensuring Weekly and Monthly statistics are prepared for the Director of IT to analyse. · Managing and owning the Group’s Asset Register, ensuring it is always kept up to date. · Managing of projects; collecting user requirements, obtaining quotes and ensuring best value. The ideal applicant will have: · Previously worked in a Senior IT / Helpdesk Management role (ideally within the Education Sector) · Strong line management skills · Proven incident management experience · Exceptional technical knowledge · Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally · Ability to deliver training in a classroom · Ability to take ownership of service delivery This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
