Ernie Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 We have been trying to edit a shared excel document in one drive from Android and Windows 10 phones. The excel app is installed (free version). The file opens as read only. We have O365 A1 subscription. Is it possible to enable this? Regards Ern
AlanD Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 ...I think the free version doesn’t offer editing using an APP....but perversely will edit is you use the web editor.
azureusnation Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Are you logged in Excel with your office 365 account? if not you need to be and that is more than likely the answer.
Ernie Posted May 19, 2018 Author Posted May 19, 2018 Thanks for the replies Editing in a browser on a pc works fine. Trying on mobile (android) no luck. Tried with a new shared word doc and from a new install of Firefox for Android received this message after Logged in: Can’t open file We couldn’t apply organisational policies to give you access to your account because of an intune service error Please try again later Is this maybe to do with MDM administration in Office 365? Ern
AlanD Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 Assuming you are a school, with an ovs or other suitable volume licence can buy the full O365 ...E3 or whatever it’s called ...for £0.00 ..but you have to actually go through the purchase process. Once the licences are then assigned to your users through the admin console the app on devices will allow users to edit documents not just view them.
