We currently with win7 install network printers using printuientry scripts, old school but it works....

Now with a couple of rooms of win10 there are complaints of printers not installing. Log off/on they are there, but it’s too erratic.

Tried GPO deployment a couple of years ago but it was a nightmare, ended up wiping nearly all the machines. now domain controllers are 2016, print server 2012r2, maybe GPO better, it’s a big risk for staff confidence in our win10 deployment though if printing is erratic. It needs to be rock solid. Powershell?

What’s the deal with printer deployment in win10?

Have the same at our place with vbs. No pattern to it! Such a strange one I have give up troubleshooting and instead install

It manually for users or get them to log off and on .

Similarly I had that problem too. Never did get to the root cause of it but as if like magic the problems disappeared after a couple of weeks. I had a theory that it was related to drivers. If I updated the driver on the server it appeared to cause Windows 10 machines to randomly not install the printer (didn't affect Windows 7). After a while they sorted themselves out.

We are having the same issue to. Been going on for a while now. Moved from Win 10 Education to LTSB and its cut it down a lot but still not stopped it happening. Updated all the drivers on the print server to the latest etc., tried several different methods of deployment. Still no joy, so if you find out what's causing it I will be very grateful if you post it on here.
