CHiLL Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I'm looking at modiying our 1803 WIM and importing it into SCCM, but I've noticed that there are now two versions of Windows 10 Education: Windows 10 Education Windows 10 Pro Education We've previously been using Windows 10 Education for our prior builds since 1607. What's the difference between these two new versions of Education and which one should I chose?! 1
Steve21 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Ironically that's a downgrade Pro Edu is Pro Edu is Ent In business/old terms. Pro Edu comes with new Education devices (discounted for edu originally) Steve 2
Arthur Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 which one should I chose?! Education since that includes the same functionality as the Enterprise edition (AppLocker etc.). Pro Education doesn't.
sted Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 i thought education WAS enterprise just with a different name sticker on it. always use education pro dosent support some things being configured via gpo that edu does (cant think of any examples of teh top of my head though) iirc pro education is mainly meant as an upgrade version but i may be wrong
CHiLL Posted May 14, 2018 Author Posted May 14, 2018 (edited) @Steve21, @Arthur and @sted thanks for the clarification! That makes sense now, so I'll be sticking with Windows 10 Education and leaving Pro Education alone! Edited May 14, 2018 by CHiLL
Michael Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 I'd stick with 1607 LTSB - have done for some time now and problems have gone right down! 2
