Server 2016 Licence Expiry

I have a Windows Server 2016 VM which I successfully licenced using my 2012 R2 KMS Server. Just recently the 2016 Server is coming up with

 

 

When I go to Settings I see that it is already activated.

 

 

 

I have gone back to the 2012 R2 KMS Server and used VAMT to update licence details and that comes back as successful.

 

Anyone any ideas?

I can't remember if they removed the issue but don't you still need 5+ licenses to activate a key on KMS? Can't remember if it counts between OS versions or not or whether it was 5 of the same

 

What's SLMGR /DLV showing?

Licence Status : Licenced

It lists the correct server as the KMS Server.

I seem to have resolved it. I used AVMA (Automatic Virtual Machine Activation). Didnt even know it existed until just now!
