The DCSF is conducting a consultation about how future BSF waves should work.

 

 

Summary of Consultation

 

This consultation seeks views on options of how waves 7 to 15 of Building Schools for the Future are managed, from local authorities, dioceses and other voluntary aided bodies, school representatives and others with an interest in capital investment in schools, including in the private sector.

 

This consultation runs until 4 July 2008.

Consulation has to be done by law. Everything you mention will be ignored, unless it agrees with their BSF plan.

 

Consultation is nothing more than a box ticking excersize, since it's a foregone conclusion.

Consultation also gives an opportunity to say "this is how we think it should be" and then if and when things go wrong we can say "told you so" and have a better opportunity of having our voice listened to for other things. Interest groups rarely win the first few times around ... they have to have a level of credibility first or backing of people with credibility.

 

If we were to be backed by renowned educationalists such as Stephen Heppell then yes ... we would have a chance immediately ... but we are not. If anyone has close links with this sort of person then we may have a chance, but remember that it also needs to fit in with *their* agenda too.

 

At the moment I haven't seen too many big names come out against BSF so some serious digging may be needed.

I mean, we know nothing about school ICT. They'd only listen to an 'expert'.
