Hi, I've just tried attaching a database to SIMS (via DBAttach in the BINN folder). I am doing this with SQL 2012; however I received an error 'Could not find stored procedure sp_dboption'. I know this was dropped in SQL 2012 so how can I fix this as it appears not to have installed the database fully.

Have you spoken to your SIMS support team?

This doesn't appear to be SIMS related because that file was dropped in 2012+ SQL from what I have read.

Sp_dboption was deprecated after sql 2008 replaced with alter database.

What version of dBattach is it?

The version on our 2012 box is 1.49.40.0

From what version of sims is the dB?

Have you not got a sims support sla. Most do and it may be your council, or even I private contract.

It’s ok knowing sql and how to install applications using a sql database... but sims is a beast, a frankeinstein that defies all logic and understanding. If you can find them they will most definitely be able to help you in this situation.

Contact your SIMS support unit \ Capita directly. You clearly don't have the latest version. It's what you pay them for!! They should be able to sort this all out in hours, not weeks!!

Just to be clear, if anyone, other then Capita or a SIMS support unit, sends you the files to be "helpful", they are breaking the law and risk losing their job.

Hard hitting but true there is only so much help people can give I’m afraid.

Don’t be put off in future about posting for help.

Personally I take comfort knowing there are people on here that can help. On countless occasions I have come to a resolution from help on here quicker than the vendors support network.

Alright, but either way SQL 2008 or 2012 SIMS is still not functioning as should do (i.e can't login with sysman)

All the setup files appear to be heavily outdated and was ran on an SQL 2008 Server. DB Attach is 1.43.51.0 however SIMS .net itself is up to date.

Easy fix. Contact your support team or Capita directly and ask for that latest files to be made available to download. Run these and away you go. If you have old files then it won't work and your wasting your time.
