HP Probook 650 G3 PxE boot

Hi all,

 

I am strugging to get my new fleet of HP Probook 650 G3s to PxE boot. I have tried setting a bios password, running legacy boot and setting PxE boot as the first priority. I have also downloaded the latest intel NDIS2 driver and uploaded it to my SCCM server. This is deploying Windows 10.

 

Has anyone got the same laptops and can offer any suggestions?

I see that laptop uses the Intel I219 chipset for the NIC port. I have 1 desktop PC with a Gigabyte motherboard using that chipset that flat out refuses to PXE boot in UEFI mode, can't recall if CSM mode worked. Lots of searching on the net pointed to it being an issue with that specific Intel chipset and the only real solution was a firmware update issued by the manufacturer. I know Lenovo fixed the issue for some of their products suffering this problem.

 

My work around for the problem was to create a bootable USB stick with the MDT boot image, this then connected to the network and let deployment continue as it normally does. Not as elegant or simple as the PXE boot, but I couldn't find a solution to the problem in time.

 

Good luck, I hope you find a solution of sorts, as this would help me as well.

Thanks Craig, I've now got it to boot to PxE, but SCCM is now not letting me add the client PC to the software collection, but it was letting me add others earlier!
