I've got one user (Heads PA) that has 5 shared calendars. Since moving everyone to Office 365, these now take a good 20-30 seconds to open the calendars section of Office 365. Anyone have any suggestions on tweaks to speed this up?

I just wish it would open the calendar window, then update, not go into a not responding silliness then show it. Cached exchange mode is enabled, with 3 months cached. Download shared folders is unticked (The only suggestion i could find online) She was previously set to always online rather than cached, didn't seem to make any difference.

I take it you were on prem and then migrated to 365. What outlook version are you using, what on prem vs of exchange did you have and also what web filtering do you use?

If you can answer all of these I should be able to help.

Thanks

That's correct, migrated to O365.

The client in questions is using Outlook 2016. On prem is exchange 2013. Web filtering and firewall is a Smoothwall UTM.

When you migrated did you recreate the local OST? If not I would start there. Outlook even though it says its offline has a tendency to just go off to get an update by the exchange/office 365 servers anyway so what your experiencing I would say is normal. Obviously this is also due to internet latency and what the 365 servers are doing at the time. I hate to say but it's never going to be as quick as a local exchange server. Also try and pinpoint in your firewall the connections from the client to office 365 to see how long they are taking.

Don't know if you know this as well but there is a tool called OffCAT that Microsoft have made for debugging, take a look it can be helpful and also show you the latency times of your connections. LAst thing, make sure your av isn't scanning outlook files as stated here (Yes it says 2013 but still applies to 2016):

Let me know how you get on.
