user20 Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Hello, a student in Year 12 has said that they would like to keep check on their attendance marks and information and that they would like to have access to SIMS. Is there anyway that we can create the student a user account that is restricted and the only information they can view in SIMS is their own information? Thanks
AJWhite1970 Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 I can't think of a single good reason to allow this directly in SIMS!!!! We give that information to all our students and parents via TASC Insight, not tried it personally but the free version of SIMS Parent Gateway might be your first port of call if you want a free solution? But student logins to SIMS, no just no. Andrew
mavhc Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 could probably schedule a script to run the command line reporter and export an html file into each student's user area, just make sure you have the right student in the right area
forkies Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 Surely they can keep track of their own attendance given pen and paper. “Was I in and on time this morning?” “Oh look 100% attendance” 1

Greg Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 The Student App is on it's way, that may give what you're looking for
bobsmith Posted March 27, 2018 Posted March 27, 2018 the student app is out, and in it's current form does very little. It does NOT currently show attendance, which the OP was after.
