Renfield-64 Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Hi, The school I have started working at uses a company called PS Financials to manage finance stuff and log into it using an RDP connection. This has worked fine with Win 7 but when I try to set up a Remote Desktop connection on a Win 10 Edu PC there doesn't seem to be an option. I have to admit I am not that familiar with Win 10 Edu as we use only Win 7 at my normal school. Can anyone help? Thanks.
ThomL Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 so if you transfer the .rdp file to the Win 10 and double click it doesn't work?
Renfield-64 Posted March 22, 2018 Author Posted March 22, 2018 Hi, it won't let me transfer it, it denies me access. But I am part way to solving it by typing mstsc into cortana which allows me to set up a new RDP.
ThomL Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 Why don't you have access? seems like you are missing permissions - I'm running Windows 10 Education version 1709 (build 16299.15) and can move RDP to from this PC fine :/
Renfield-64 Posted March 22, 2018 Author Posted March 22, 2018 The desktop I am trying to copy from is logged in as a different user (not admin) which is why I can't copy it.
ThomL Posted March 22, 2018 Posted March 22, 2018 (edited) You should be able to navigate to the desktops hard drive remotely from the admin machine and copy the file. Open file browser enter something like "\\Remote-Desktop-Name\C$\Users\Desktop" to navigate via hidden admin shares, job done. Edited March 22, 2018 by ThomL missing word
