Redirected desktop icons disappearing randomly

Hi,

 

Has anyone had any issues with desktop icons not appearing when a user logs in when using a redirected desktop (to a server share) ?

 

Occasionally the desktop icons are not displayed but a quick right-click and 'Refresh' brings them back . When they're not displayed only the Recycle Bin is on the desktop. This has been an issue since I started the job. All I can do at the moment is tell people to right-click and Refresh if and when it happens.

 

I've toyed around with some group policy settings to see if those are to blame but to no avail. It happens randomly and intermittently. Two words us techies just love.

 

W7 machines on Server 2012 R2.

Sounds like an issue I've had in the past - ended up being the network connection dropping momentarily and not reconnecting in time to display the desktop.

 

Is the server share set to auto reconnect?
