Progresso MIS attendance filters

Hi all

 

I am new to progresso in a london secondary school and trying to work out when looking at attendance data. I am filtering the students whos attendance is below 90%, but I want to add filters for ethnicity and gender aswell, for some reason when filtering it, I cannot seem to get ethnicity added, it brings up every ethnicity when for example I just want to look at one ethnicity in particular. Is there anyway ethnicity can be added to the sheet, especially that can then be exported to excel.

Are you running a report already that you want to filter? Which report is it?

Yeah running a report - students in a particular year group (say year 11) I want to have ethnicity in there but when I run the filter, ethnicity doesn't appear in the final report. Pupil premium appears, as does SEN, but ethnicity no, this is despite choosing it in the advanced filter

OK, so choosing things in the Advanced Filter has no impact on the fields that appear in the report - it only affects the students (or staff or contacts) that are brought through to it.

 

You'll have to edit the report in report builder and add the Ethnicity field into (a) the dataset, which will probably be called something like DS_Attendance or DS_Learner and then (b) into the actual table that defines the body of the report.

 

SSRS (the reporting engine) has a bit of a learning curve. If you don't know how to do the above, say so and I'd suggest On Screen Reporting instead, which will involve some VLOOKUP in excel.

 

edit: or if you tell me what fields you want in the list, I probably have a report that'll do the trick anyway I can send you.

Ah yeah edit the report in report builder that could be what im doing wrong. Maybe I can send you my email address so I can liaise with you directly if I still can't manage it.
