Untangled Filtering

I've seen this product mentioned a few times on here and i see they have responded to the survey on the safer internet websites. Just wondering if anyone is using it and what there thoughts are?

I use untangle at home and it does a great job, but never used it in a school, we where looking at putting it in School as our LA look after out internet and its a nightmare to get them to block/unblock sites, we could do this from untangle ourselves.

The Reporting is poor, and you would have to go in and add every machine name so you know what is what, you can set up rules ect.

You can downlaod the Free Version stick it on a old PC with around 4GB Ram and you will need 2 nic Cards, set it up and test it!

Used the free version in a junior school as an interim solution and it worked well, but as above reporting wasn't great but as it was free, wasn't in a place to moan. Not sure on the paid version, but as it stood I'd have happily paid for it if we felt confident enough to do so. We went with a bigger player in the end (Smoothwall)
