Bit Defender or Malwarebytes?

At my college we've been running Bit Defender for the past three years with our contract ending this summer so I'm looking into Bit Defender again but I've been looking into alternatives. One alternative that I've been reading up on is Malwarebytes Endpoint. Has anyone tried Malwarebytes?

Malwarebytes is great, I've never used it as a first defence but it's really good for scanning systems. I've used Bit Defender before and not too keen on it, seems to take up a lot of system usage which has always put me off, personally I'd switch to Malwarebytes.

Hi both of these products have their benefits but neither of these two products is defined as a next gen endpoint solution, I would look for something which offers ransomware roll back and recovery functionality built in.

For mac I would say it depends on the price tbh, there is a growing but still small amount of malware for mac currently so I dont know if either will have much of a plus over the other and probably just cover similar bases. Windows though its a lot tougher call, we bought Bitdefender Gravity as its cloud console is nice and tbh its pretty light on resources on windows. Currently using just over 50mb of ram split over its services here (but not every feature is turned on, just the ones we want) where as a home edition of malwarebytes I have is running at 78.5MB of ram. I do like Malwarebytes though as its coverage is very good but Bitdefender isnt bad though.

We have had Bit Defender for the past three years already with GravityZone and it works. More so this turn around I wanted to do some testing and get a feel for new pricing but when MalwareBytes came to the table for pricing it was crazy how much money they wanted vs. Bit Defender. In the end, though I'm preparing for our current contract to end in June I'm looking ahead and pricing is good.

 

Like ZeroHour said, for anyone looking into Mac Malware/AntiVirus protection Bit Defenders Cloud Console Gravity Zone works well.
