garethEds Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 Afternoon guys, I've just been re-building our cluster and wondered whether CAU needs setting up on both nodes in the cluster, or only one one (which then controls everything else). Any advice? Cheers Gareth
RobD Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 You configure it for the cluster i.e. adds as a role so only need to do it once and when the updates run it will make sure each node is up before proceeding.

Thank you @RobD - I thought as much. My only issue now is with setting it up as I'm getting an error message. I've put it here in a screenshot - any ideas? I'm about to experiement with the PS command it recommends.
RobD Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 When you setup a cluster it creates a new AD object and associates DNS to it etc etc. My guess is that's not happening here, either your account doesnt have permission or it maybe the server objects themselves need permission to create another......

That makes sense - I've prestaged an account now so just need to run the PShell script to make it work. Fingers crossed. Gareth
Coleshill Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I had that same error but changed permissions in AD and all works fine now. Have you managed to sort your error out?

I've tried and tried, but as I don't have enterprise admin I cannot change some permissions. I've tried the pre-staging instructions but it errors out. Gareth
