MySQL ODBC Driver

Hi, just could do with a pointer on getting the mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.30-winx64.msi (here) installed on the network, but just the 64bit driver. By default running this under custom, we need to deselect the 32 bit driver and it just install the 64bit version. I've looked in the MSI in ORCA and can see under the "Feature" Table two features, ODBC_32 and ODBC_64.

 

My issue is how do I call the msi to just install the 64 bit driver?

 

I assume it would be something like msiexec /i mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.30-winx64.msi something=ODBC_64

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated, this would be used to deploy this via MDT if that helps!

Managed to sort it, remembered I can just create a MST, now all working

Oooh Orca, now that's been a while since I have used it. I *think* you may be able to make a transform in orca then set the Feature level to 0 and it would stop it installing but it has been so long since I had to work with MSI's.

Then you can call the msi with /t {path to transform} and it will apply it but it may take some tweaking to get it right.

I have attached an initial go at a transform I knocked out just now for you to take a look at but you will need to see if it works as my vm's are being rebuilt here.

Nearly, I needed to increase the feature level above the set level. I created the Transform (Transform > New Transform) and checked the INSTALLLEVEL field in the Property Table was set to 1, I set the level against the ODBC_32 Feature in the Feature Table to 99. Saved the Transform (Transform > Generate Transform... ) and ran the following command

 

msiexec /i mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.30-winx64.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS="ODBC_64bitonly.mst"
