Meru / Fortinet MC3200 Firmware

Hi All

 

I am after the latest version of the Meru / Fortinet MC3200 controller firmware and patch ( I think its version meru-8.2-7MR-1-MC3200-rpm.tar and meru-8.2-7MR-1-patch-7iSTEP-generic-rpm.tar), our support contract expired and thought i had downloaded the firmware but forgot to do so. is anyone willing to help us out?

Best advice would be to contact a reseller and get it back into support, you can then access the Fortinet portal to get the 8 releases. Then You won’t need AP licences

What your asking is a violation of the EULA, so publicly you shouldn't have any luck posting here for it. You should always maintain support on your controller when running a WLC, especially Meru since they have a history of end-running RFC standards and have far more client compatibility issues than any other vendor on the market.

Ok no worries thank for the info and thats the last thing i want to do is violate the EULA, was gonna see if the new update would of fixed the issues we are having at the school before moving to another vendor for our wireless system as the school isn't to impressed with the product and thought it would perform better due to how much each AP cost and the whole system itself, we are more then happy to renew the support contract for a product that works and aps don't restart a number of times per day.

ok thank you for that but don't think the school wants to renew the support contract for a product they have issues with, it isn't a small meru network there are about 80 access points and to renew would cost too much - if the product works and the update resolves the issues there won't be an issue to convince them to renew the support contract but they are thinking of going with another vendor ( I believe they are thinking about Xirrus they are way cheaper and have a proven record to work with the feedback they are getting from schools that use them)
