fiza Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 Our File Server randomly rebooted the other day and on checking the Integrated Management Logs there is the following error Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception (Board 0, Processor 1, APIC ID 0x00000000, Bank 0x00000004, Status 0xBA000000'71000402, Address 0x00000000'00000000, Misc 0x00000000'00000000) The Server has been stable since then. Any ideas what this means? I am planning on running the HP SPP to make sure all firmware and drivers are upto date tonight but is this a hardware fault that needs HPE to replace something?
sparkeh Posted January 19, 2018 Posted January 19, 2018 There was an issue with this in an old version of BIOS so check that you are up to date as a first port of call. Another fix was to set this is BIOS: Advance Power option: set to "HP Static High Performance Mode." Minimum Processor Idle Power State: set to "No C-state" 1

I will do the Bios fix when the server has finished updating and before I let users back on.
