Does anyone use impero's patch management thingy?

I use it quite a bit but then I guess i would! Are you asking for a technical question i can assist with or just to get a feel for it from the community (in which case i'll pipe down)?

It will indeed, it will cater from non MS patches as well as the MS patches, so things such as Java, Audacity, etc, will stay up to date too. It's designed to be a one stop patch shop.

What about devices that are not managed by impero.. i.e. Other Servers..?

Patch management will only run where the Impero client is installed.

They way you'd manage that is to create a group in Impero containing all the servers (you could do this by OS version automatically), and give only the administrators access to that group.

In 6.3 (due soon) it's possible to disable monitoring for a group too, based on either a schedule or permanently, so you could disable monitoring on those servers and that would leave you with Impero functionality without much resource overhead (not that it uses a lot anyway), appropriate security, and managed by patch management.

The caveat I should add is the Impero server won't patch itself; so you'd need to windows patch that one separately.

Hi Thanks for that.. Perhaps that will be 6.4.

So I guess I can manually keep the impero server up to date manually..
