ebelshaw Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Im having issues since upgrading OS to Windows 10 and the PC losing connection to a second monitor. Same PC hardware and Monitors\Screens worked without problem in Windows 7 Since upgrading to Windows 10, the second monitor loses connection randomly and also seems to coincide with the PC been locked, second monitor doesn't wake back up? I have tried different gfx\monitor drivers, different power settings but nothing seems to have solved it??? Happened to a PC yesterday both monitors been working for months, PC was locked and now second monitor won't connect. No updates had been applied, tried different drivers, another monitor and cable etc, plenty reboots VGA outputs seems fine its HDMI\Display ports which have the problem Anyone seen anything similar in Windows 10?
Geoff Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Sounds like your power management doesn't work properly. Things to try: Set power plan to high performance disable hibernation / sleep update drivers update bios
bknaggs Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Is it resetting from Extend or Duplicate back to PC Screen Only or is it not being seen at all? We have had lots of reports where a Displayport output is used to output to a screen on the wall of the second screen losing connection. When checked it has always reverted back from Duplicate to PC Screen Only.
