Appleton Academy is an all through learning environment for pupils aged 3 to 19 and our building provides a wonderful environment for lifelong learning, in South Bradford.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our ICT team. Reporting to the Network Manager, you will be part of a small team responsible for providing frontline support for students and staff to ensure that academy IT systems are fully functioning at all times, maintaining IT Service Levels. You will contribute to the development of the Academy ICT provision, supporting the IT Manager. This is a position in which you can grow and develop, occupying a key role within the Academy and supporting a cutting-edge learning facility for students and staff.

 

The successful applicant will:

 

 

• Be an excellent communicator and have a proactive ‘can do’ attitude
  
• Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills
  
• Support the Network Manager in managing ICT across Academy
  
• Contribute to the IT Strategy and the continuous improvement of ICT across the Academy
  
• Deliver agreed projects from the IT Strategy
  
• Provide a safe ICT environment for staff, students and visitors
  
• Ensure that ICT equipment within the Academy buildings is fully functional at all times
  
• Provide an efficient, co-ordinated and effective maintenance service for ICT across the Academy
  
• Manage ICT Technicians within the department
  
• Provide classroom support to teaching staff as and when necessary
  
• Support the management of all systems designed to monitor ICT usage and functionality
  

 

We have a range of systems running on our network including Windows and Mac OSX and the Academy uses Office 365 for Education to complement internal networks. The Academy runs VMware with Windows 2012/2016 with a HP switching infrastructure, Smoothwall, Impero and around 800 laptop devices. It is essential that candidates have an indepth knowlegde of these products to achieve success within the role and to maitaining the day to day running of the Academy.
