Moving away from outlook public folders

Hi

 

In our college we currently use Outlooks public folder for room bookings etc and are looking to move away from them whilst still wanting to have control over permissions etc. We would ideally like to use AD groups for permissions and be able to pull across our Corero room calendars at the start of the year although I appreciate this may not be possible without a bespoke system.

 

Does anyone use anything for this kind of thing that they would recommend? I assume college will be willing to spend money but given the current climate this might not be a huge amount
