Is anyone experiencing any problems with OneNote online this morning? Our students are unable to copy and paste from the Content Library to their Student Notebooks. It looks like a GUI issue. You hover over the page you want to copy, right click and the Copy option stays grey. If you however over the Copy icon rather than the Copy text it flashes grey.

At first I was thinking it may be a browser issue however I've asked them to use Google Chrome instead of IE and the problem persists. That is making me think that it may be an issue at Microsoft's end? Any of you guys and gals having the same problem.

Having the same problem - noticed it Friday last week. If you open the Onenote Notebook in the full client version of OneNote you can still copy. Guess its something to do with this update on Thursday - https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Education-Blog/Collaboration-Space-Permissions-in-Teams-for-EDU-OneNote-Class/ba-p/124361

Well at least it's not just us then.

I thought that it may be an issue with permissions as the copy and pasting from within student notebook sections are fine. I've tried running the NoteBooks through the online permission fix tool but it's still the same.

Tried that too. Only workaround I found was to open in the Full client version or get the member of staff to distribute the page via the ClassNotebook addin. Will raise a case with Microsoft.

@bigjb Did MS get any where with your call? MS are still looking into this for us. We are still experiencing the issue BTW.

the response I got back after numerous emails backwards and forwards was " I am currently investigating this issue and I will email you once I receive an update."

just got another reply

"I spoke with our engineers and they stated "We can confirm to the user that this feature is not available for the students in the online version. But if they want the copy, they can open the Notebook in the OneNote 2016 client and do it."

MS have just got back to me to suggest unlocking the Collaboration Space to allow the copying and pasting of pages etc. This does work however it's only a workaround as it's the Content Library that is broken. I'm waiting for another response from MS about this.

Doesnt that give the student permission to modify the page though in the Collaboration Space? The permissions on the Content Library were read only for students but with permission to copy/move into own area.

Update from MS " Thank you very much for your feedback. We have identified this issue as a bug. Our engineers are currently working on a fix, I apologize for the inconvenience."

Your absolutely correct. Not ideal at all. Our staff don't want to use the thick client as a workaround so all I can offer them is the collaboration space workaround.I told them that it's probably best to unlock the CS section for a few minutes at the beginning of the lesson to allow them to copy the work over and the lock it again.

I've seen your latest update to this thread and it's good that they've acknowledged the bug. Hopefully it won't take too long to implement.
