Just throwing this out there... I may be wrong... but there shouldn't be any sensitive data in standard e-mails anyway...

A student's name can be sensitive data. Their grades or attendance record are sensitive data. This is included in emails all the time.

I assumed that the message/requirement was inherent to all enterprise-grade/managed accounts. Have you tried connecting one of your managed accounts to an android device and not received the message, or have you not tried signing in yet?

I have not enabled all of the device policies so I assume this is why we do not get that message, I wonder which ones need to be enabled? I have just found a spare phone so will do some testing.

This is not just emails they might get access to from a personal device but Google drive etc.

The options are in Device Management, there should be an option on your Admin Console

It might be your Android settings are set to 'basic' and not 'advanced'.

Combing through these settings it looks like you need to set up an Apple Push Certificate to do manage iOS devices anything beyond 'basic'

Edit: But again I won't have a way of testing this until Christmas
