IT Help Desk (1st Line) Technician – Cambridge * URGENT *

£22k - £25k plus excellent benefits (including 30 days holiday and Bank Hols.)

Full time position

Our client, a prestigious independent school in Cambridge are looking for an IT Help Desk Technician to join their existing team, to provide 1st line operational and technical support to their staff and students.

 

Main responsibilities :

· 1st line operational and technical support to users of the information systems.

· Detecting/troubleshooting issues raised by staff and ensuring system/data integrity is maintained.

· Installing, configuring and maintaining desktop computers, printers, telephones, network hardware, audio visual equipment and other peripheral equipment.

· Maintenance of daily routines around Active Directory and Security Groups.

· Ensuring that all clients have continual operational service and that all support is performed with minimal business impact on the customer within agreed service levels.

· Responding to requests in a timely manner and prioritizing support to the needs of the college.

· Ensuring that all support requests are properly recorded, tracked and completed.

· Performing hardware repairs in-house where possible.

· Liaising with suppliers and support contractors to arrange service when needed.

· Escalating issues which cannot be resolved to the 2nd line or the Support Desk Team Leader.

· Providing advice and assistance on using the equipment and software at the college.

 

 

Technical skills :

· Support and use of Windows 7 and 10.

· Support and use of Mac OS X, iOS and Android devices.

· Support and use of Microsoft Office 2016, the Internet and email systems.

· Exchange and SQL Server.

· PC maintenance, upgrades, fault- finding and repair by component exchange.

· Laptop hardware and printer repairs.
