Just curious, do any schools use a Digital Asset Management product for storage and cataloguing of Photographs that are taken by staff e.g. on school trips, events etc.

I know it would be a massive undertaking to catalogue the existing images!

Thanks in advance for any pointers.

Just resurrecting this thread to see if anyone has gone down this route now - with GDPR and tighter photo consents we are looking to have a way of organising our images, ideally tagging them / facial recognition used to identify who is in each photo. Any thoughts welcome!

So far I've got as far as creating folders for years and months on shared staff drive. Teachers still don't put stuff in the right place though.

Also I try to get everyone who sends me photos for website to say who's in which photos, but really needs to be integrated into the website cms somehow. Make sure only photos used in posts are actually online for a start

I have applied a GPO so that users can save all the media files on only one shared drives. Also created all the class folders and other events folders. Again applied the restriction that they cannot create a new folder. It is working great.
